What to send when you need pricing
The quickest way to get an accurate quote is to send a clear list of what you need, along with the town or suburb where the equipment will be used. If you are opening a new kitchen in Silverton, replacing a fryer in Centurion, or adding to a canteen in Midrand, include the size of the space and any power or water limits. That helps us match the right equipment to the site first time.
If you do not yet have a full list, send the type of operation you run, for example takeaway, coffee shop, school kitchen, butcher, or guest house. We can then suggest suitable fryers, toasters, mixers, microwaves, chafing dishes and used equipment options. If you already have old equipment on site, mention that too so we can plan around removal, servicing or re positioning.
How our quotation process works
We keep the process practical and straight forward. Once we receive your request, our team checks the specification, stock availability and any site details that may affect delivery or installation. For larger kitchens, we may also arrange a site assessment in Pretoria, Centurion, Randburg, Boksburg, Kempton Park or nearby areas.
- Send your list by email to quotes@afchain.co.za.
- Include your contact name, business name, suburb and preferred timeline.
- Add measurements, photos, and any electrical or gas details if available.
- We prepare a quote in Rand with item pricing, options and any service notes.
- If needed, we revise the quote after a call or site visit.
Our quoting work is handled by Nadia Petersen, who also helps with procurement when a specific item needs sourcing. If you are comparing new and used equipment, we can quote both so you can make a proper decision against budget and expected use.
When a site assessment makes sense
A site assessment is useful when the kitchen is tight on space, the power supply is uncertain, or you are changing the layout. This is common in older buildings around Pretoria Central and in busy units where load shedding, ventilation, and access routes must all be checked before equipment is installed. A fryer may fit on paper, but the actual door width, counter height and extraction position matter on the day.
During an assessment, we look at floor space, work flow, positioning, power points, water access and where staff will move during service. If you are planning a kitchen reconfiguration, it is better to sort these details before ordering. That avoids delays and extra call outs later, which can save you money and a bit of stress too.
Delivery, installation and handover support
Once the quote is approved, we arrange delivery and positioning to suit your site. Kagiso Molefe handles installation work and Sibusiso Dlamini coordinates service support, so the handover is not left hanging. For heavier or more sensitive units, we confirm access, unpacking and final positioning before the team arrives.
- Delivery and positioning of catering equipment
- Equipment installation and testing
- Handover training for staff
- Preventive servicing schedules for busy kitchens
- Breakdown repairs and workshop refurbishment
We work with kitchens that need equipment ready for trade quickly, especially in areas like Boksburg and Kempton Park where opening times are strict. If you need training on first use, cleaning or daily shutdown steps, say so in the quote request and we will include it.
Used equipment and budget options
Not every kitchen needs everything brand new. Used equipment can be a sensible option when you need to start trading, replace one item at a time, or keep a backup unit on site. We source used equipment carefully and can tell you what is worth repairing, what should be replaced, and what may be better suited to a workshop refurbish before it goes back into service.
When you request a quote, let us know if you are open to used options or mixed new and used items. That gives us room to work within your budget while still meeting the cooking capacity you need. Mpho Sekgobela oversees the business, and our team has been doing this since 2011, so we know the difference between a short term fix and equipment that will serve properly.
After the quote: approvals, servicing and next steps
After you receive the quotation, you can approve the full order or only selected items, depending on what your kitchen needs right now. If you are still comparing suppliers, ask for clarifications on power load, dimensions, lead time, or whether servicing is included. It is better to ask before you buy than to find out later that a unit is not ideal for your setup.
We also support existing customers with preventative servicing and breakdown repairs, which matters when you run a busy kitchen and cannot afford long downtime. If your equipment is already on site and failing, send a short description of the fault and a photo if possible. We will advise on the next step and whether the unit should come into the workshop. For quotes and support in Pretoria and Gauteng, start with one email and we’ll take it from there.
