Why people build a future with us
Afchain Catering Equipment has been part of the Pretoria trade since 2011, working from Silverton and supporting customers in Pretoria Central, Centurion, Midrand, Kempton Park, Boksburg and Randburg. Our team deals with new equipment, used equipment, servicing, repairs and installations, so the work is varied and hands-on.
We are looking for people who take pride in getting the job done properly. That means showing up on time, keeping the workspace tidy, and treating restaurant, school, lodge and takeaway clients with respect. The pace can change quickly, especially when a fryer fails before lunch or a microwave is needed after a power dip, so calm thinking matters.
Roles we hire for
We do not only need people on the sales side. A catering equipment business depends on quotations, site assessments, deliveries, workshop work and after-sales support. Depending on experience, we may look for people in admin, sales, service, installations, procurement, and workshop support.
- Sales and quotations support
- Service and repair coordination
- Installation and delivery assistance
- Workshop refurbishment and testing
- Used equipment sourcing and prep
- Customer handover and basic training
Some roles need strong product knowledge, while others suit someone with good practical skills and a willingness to learn. If you can read a site, measure a counter, or notice when a unit is not drawing power properly, that already counts for a lot.
What we expect on the job
Our work often involves commercial kitchens, storage rooms, prep areas and service counters, so safety and care are essential. People who fit in well here understand that equipment needs to be handled properly, whether it is being carried, tested, cleaned, or fitted into a tight space. In Gauteng, transport and timing matter too, because a late delivery can hold up a whole opening.
- Clear communication with customers and colleagues
- Basic problem solving under pressure
- Willingness to work with tools and equipment
- Attention to detail with quotes, stock and job cards
- Respect for site rules, municipal requirements and safety checks
We value people who can work with little fuss and keep things moving. A strong work ethic beats noise every time.
Experience that helps you fit in
Previous experience in catering equipment, refrigeration, electrical support, kitchen fit-outs or similar trade work is useful, but it is not the only route in. Some of our best people start with solid admin skills or a practical background and learn the sector over time. If you have worked around chefs, contractors, suppliers or service teams, you already understand the pace a bit.
For technical and workshop roles, experience with repairs, testing, assembly or installation is helpful. For quoting and procurement roles, accuracy and follow-through are important, because the wrong part or missing detail can slow a project down. We need people who can think ahead, not just react.
How to send your CV
To apply, email your CV to quotes@afchain.co.za and include the type of role you are interested in. Please add a short note about your experience, where you are based, and whether you have a driver’s licence or own transport. If you have worked in Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand or nearby areas, mention that as well.
When possible, include a brief list of your strongest skills, such as quotations, equipment installation, workshop repairs, stock control, or customer support. If you have certificates or trade training, attach copies too. We review applications as they come in, so keep your details current and your contact number easy to reach. Small thing, but it helps a lot.
What joining our team feels like
Afchain is a practical business, not a fancy one. We deal with real equipment, real deadlines and real kitchen problems. That means you will work with people who know the trade and expect steady effort. If a job needs a site assessment in Centurion, a delivery in Boksburg, or a workshop check in Silverton, we plan it and get on with it.
Good candidates usually want more than a pay cheque. They want to learn, improve and be trusted with work that matters. If that sounds like you, send through your CV and let us see where you may fit in.
